ATHLETICS

The Carden School of Fresno offers extracurricular athletics to its student body.  The school is a member of the Parochial Athletic League of Fresno, which places an emphasis on sportsmanship through competition.  The student athletes have the opportunity to participate in co-ed cross country, boys football, girls volleyball (in the Fall), boys and girls basketball (in the Winter), boys volleyball, youth soccer, and Track and Field (in the Spring). Please check this page for an updated schedule of these sports, as they become available.

 

During the school year, the students compete against other schools in the PAL of Fresno and in certain sports, they have the chance to compete against other Fresno and Clovis Unified schools.

 

Mr. Aalto, a Central Valley native and former Active-duty Marine, started studying Health Science at Fresno City College then transferred to California State University Fresno, where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology, with a Physical Education Teacher Education emphasis. It was there that he studied in fields of Biomechanics, Motor Development, Motor Learning, Sports physiology, Nutrition, Sports Psychology, Application and Assessment of Aquatics, plus more. As a part of his studies he acquired certifications from the American Red Cross as a Water Safety Instructor, Shallow Water Lifeguard,and Lifeguard Instructor. He has also completed all the courses connected to a Coaching minor, including Coaching Concepts which certified him as a California Interscholastic Federation coach. He now devotes his time to the Carden School of Fresno as the Athletic Director, Physical Educator, and Head coach for most athletics.
